Each student starts with 3 cards, it is their goal to have 0 cards
When a student gets a pair, they put the cards down.
Students will go in a circle, when it is their turn they will choose another person, and say the day of the week they want.

Card Snatch カードスナッチ
I will divide the class into 6 teams.
Each team will be given a set of cards to spread right side up on the floor.
I will call out a letter, students must find the letter and grab it, (there will be 3 of each letter per group) I will continue calling letters until there are none left.
At the end of the game students will count how many cards they have, the student with the most cards is the winner for each group.
If there is time we will play again, all the champions will be in the same group, and all the other groups will change so that there are 6 even groups.

Go Fish(ババ抜きのようなゲーム)
各グループにカードを渡し、各自に5枚ずつ配ります。
残りのカードは、裏にして真ん中に山にしておきます。
最初のプレイヤーは(Player 1)、他のプレイヤーを1人指名します。(Player 2)
Player 2 What do you want?と質問します。Player 1は、 I want ____ ( ß アルファベット). と欲しいカードを言います。もしPlayer 2 がそのカードを持っていれば、Player 1に渡します。もし持っていなければ、Player 2 は「Go Fish!」と言いいPlayer 1は真ん中の山からカードを1枚引かなければなりません。
このようにしてゲームを続け、3枚同じカードがそろったPlayerは、カードを山に戻しシャッフルします。
カードが全部なくなったPlayerが勝ちとなります。
Go Fish
Each group will be given a deck of cards. Each student will get 5 cards.
The player 1 will pick another player and point at them (Player 2). Player 2 will ask What do you want?  The first player will say I want ____ ( ß Letter) if the other player has the card they will give the first player the card, if the other player does not have the card they will say Go Fish, and the first player has to draw a card from the pile.
If a student has 3 of the same letter in their hand they put the cards back into the pile and shuffle it.
The first person to have 0 cards in their hand is the winner.

I will teach them the words left and right.

Simple game
All the students must stand up, if I say left, they must turn left 90’ if I say right they must turn right 90’ if a student makes a mistake, they have to sit down and they will be out. After about half the students are out I will try to trick them by turning the wrong direction.
We will repeat the game until students are confident with the words left and right.

Scavenger Hunt
Students will each be given a work sheet, they must do the sheet in the order I gave them ( Teams)
To complete the work sheet they must quietly go around the school, and find the secret letters that I have put on the doors to the rooms. They must write down the secret letter in the box, once they have all the letters they must come back to the classroom and turn it in. Everyone must be back before the end of class, irregardless if they Finished it or not.
Once the students have completed the work sheet they will hand it in. They can then get a stamp if they have done it correctly, and written their name in English.

The student that lost janken must give the winner a card, each student must then find a new person
The student with the most cards at the end is the winner.

Pictionary
I will choose 4 students, the 4 students must come up to the front of the class. All the other students must close their eyes
I will show the 4 students the secret card.
I will count backwards from 10, When I say stop they must put down their pens.
I will ask all the students in the class, “What’s this?”
              The students must try to guess what the picture is.

Game
Students will each get 6 cards, They will have different countries on them.
The goal is to get one card from each country
Students will find someone and do rock scissors paper. The winner will say hello in the language they want. If the loser has that country they get the card with that country on it.

Fly swatter game
We will make 3 teams.
I will either say a country name (Russia, France, Brazil, Japan, Mexico, America)
Or I will say hello in a language (Strastuvuiche, bonjour, oi, konichiwa, hola, hello)
The student at the front of the line will have to listen to what I say. The first person to touch the card of the country I say is the winner and gets a point for their team.

                   Each student will be given a card with a job on it. Each student must go around and say I want to be a _(card job)__. The goal is find their partner first, and then sit down. The first students to find their partner will be the winner.

Year 6 Unit 4 Part 4 - Robot Game

ROBOT GAME!
We will only be playing one game today.
Students must remember the directions
              Turn Left, Turn Right, Go Straight, Turn Around.

There will be 4 teams, each team will have a robot. I will show the students what the secret number is, this is the students goal, they should try to find this number. The robot will have to listen to the directions from their team, and find the secret number. The team will get one point per correct number they find.
I will tape a pocket down on each square on the ground, when students land on a square they can either look in the pocket, or they can skip it.
Disasters!
If a robot makes a mistake, their team must change robots, and they lose a turn.
If a robot finds a Piranha Plant card, their team must change robots and start from the beginning.
If a robot finds a number that is wrong their team must change robots, and they lose a turn.
A robot cannot stand on the same square as another robot.

Power ups
If a robot finds a x2 Power up, they get to give two directions per every turn, the power up wears off if they change robots, or if the secret number is found by a team.
If the robot finds a x3 power up, they get to give two directions per every turn, the power up wears off if they change robots, or if the secret number is found by a team.
If the robot finds a Switch power up, they must change places with another robot.
If the robot finds a star power card they are immune to all disasters, the star power wears off when the secret number is found

Tornado game (aka the best review game in the world)

Tornado Game
This game is the ultimate review game. It’s really effective for review, especially if you make sure teams are listening to each other’s answers. This kids love this game, and will beg to play it again. It works for any class size, and works for elementary, middle, and high school (I wouldn’t recommend it for really young students though, because it can be a bit mean).

Materials:
Tornado die
Flash Cards (optional)

Preparation:
You will need 6 different colors of large construction paper, one of them should be black. On the black paper use a white crayon or piece of chalk and draw a tornado. On the other 5 colors draw images that represent the 5 topics you wish to review.
Fold the edges of the paper so that each side form a perfect square, you should have about 2 inches of paper folded down on either side.
Laminate each of the 6 pieces of construction paper. Refold the papers at the lines you previously folded them. Cut of any extra laminate.
Use double sided tape to tape the dice together. Tape the extra two inches on each side to the backs of the other sides.

Game rules
The goal is to have the most points.
Split the class into teams, for a class of 20 or more split into 4 teams. Have a volunteer from team 1 come up and roll the giant dice. If they roll one of the regular sides, have them answer a question/review a phrase having to do with that side. If they get the question right they get a point for their team, if they get it wrong no points. If the player has trouble with a question I let their team help, but the volunteer has to be the one to say the final answer (it forces them to review). After their turn is over continue to the next team.
Points will be given in the shape of a house, it takes 5 points to draw a house.
If a team (say team 1) rolls a tornado, the student who rolled they must answer a challenge question. I usually make these questions that are very challenging. If the student gets it wrong, a tornado hits their house, and blows it down (team 1 looses their points). If they get it right they can either take a point for their team, or they can send a tornado to another team, and blow down their house. The game is pretty mean, but the children love it.
Point system
Students get 1 point per correct answer.  Each point goes towards making the side of a house.
If a team gets a tornado question right, they can either choose to give their own team a point, or they can choose to attack another team.
If a team completes a house (5 sides) write 2x in it. It now takes 2 tornadoes to blow down that house. The students on that team can now start making a 2nd house. If a tornado hits a team, any incomplete houses are erased, and any complete houses without a 2x in them are erased.
If a team has had their 2x erased once they get another point I let them choose, Point or Safe, if they choose safe, then a 2x is written in one of their houses (just one if they have multiples).
